Online auctioneer eBay promised to credit users yesterday after several auctions on the site disappeared on Sunday. The outage was followed by other problems on Monday.
Some pages on the site, including the home page, were intermittently unavailable from 09:40 to 10:48 Pacific Daylight Time on Sunday.

In an apology on the website's notice board eBay said: "We have identified the source of the issue, and restored full access to all pages.
"Since viewing and bidding were unavailable for more than an hour, we will credit all associated fees for listings scheduled to end between 09:40 and 10:48. This is in accordance with our outage policy."
But the apology was followed by another hour long outage on Monday affecting mainly jewellery and clothing auctions.
Last month the group suffered a 90 minute outage, but the company denied yesterday that any recent problems were due to back-end upgrades.
