Asus has added two new models to its Seashell range of netbooks, boasting of improved energy efficiency and lightweight designs.
The 10.1in Eee PC 1005HA and 11.6in 1101HA offer a range of connectivity options including Bluetooth and Wi-Fi. Both feature the power-efficient Intel Atom chip and run Windows XP.
Both units use 92 per cent standard sized keyboards, and are supported by extra-wide palm rests. The 1005HA contains a 160GB hard drive plus 10GB Eee Storage, and promises up to 10.5 hours battery life. The 1101HA promises 9.5 hours, and the same onboard storage.
"Both models are the first Eee PC Seashell netbooks with a replaceable battery design. By carrying a second battery pack, users can continue to work away from power sources for even longer periods of time," the company said.
Another first for the Seashell family is the inclusion of Asus' Eee Docking software, an easy to use set of tabs designed for quick access to common apps and PC tools.
Both units weigh 1.27Kg. Release dates and pricing information have not yet been released.
