McAfee today announced that it has completed its acquisition of Citadel Security Software, a provider of security risk management and compliance technology.
The acquisition forms key component of McAfee's security risk management strategy, according to the firm.
The deal will see McAfee working to integrate Citadel's vulnerability assessment, policy compliance enforcement and remediation technology into its suite of existing products.
These include McAfee ePolicy Orchestrator, McAfee Preventsys Compliance Auditor and Risk Analyzer, McAfee Policy Enforcer and McAfee Foundstone Enterprise.
Chris Kenworthy, senior vice president of worldwide marketing at McAfee, claimed that the acquisition makes McAfee the first and only company to integrate threat prevention with compliance management, and deliver it within a single console.
