SDL Tridion is claiming to "revolutionise the online search environment"

Web content management firm SDL Tridion has announced a partnership with Q-go to boost searches on its customer web pages.

SDL said today that the deal will allow the company to offer a natural language search engine that it claims will "revolutionise the online search environment".

Businesses can improve customer stickiness by offering more natural searches and more accurate results, according to SDL, while marketers could use the questions asked in searches to "push other related information to the website visitor".

In order to use the system enterprises must create a series of model questions that reference their own site and the products and services they supply. This will allow them to streamline their content and improve the customer experience, SDL said.

"The integration between SDL Tridion and Q-go has enormous benefits for web content editors, and subsequently web site visitors," said Jan Jaap Kolleman, chief executive at SDL Tridion.

"There will be an increase in productivity as editors no longer have multiple processes to go through to update search functions and the web site itself, while visitors will notice an increase in the quality of their experience, as searches will be relevant to the questions they ask.

"This also means a decrease in helpdesk calls and emails as online service level is improved, resulting in significant cost reductions."

Marcel Smit, chief executive at Q-go, added: "The new SDL Tridion Q-go connector integrates both systems seamlessly. This eliminates manual work for content editors, and significantly improves the quality of the web site.

"We are confident that our ongoing partnership will help organisations to achieve the best customer experience on their web sites."
