Queen Mary University London will be giving away a fully funded degree course and postgraduate bursaries as part of BrainAcademy 2005.
The scheme, co-sponsored by Microsoft, opens today and closes on 14 September. Entrants must take an online quiz to qualify for a programming challenge and then face a final interview.

"BrainAcademy is a fun way to find the most talented students and give them the life-changing opportunity of a university education together with great career options," said Dr Paul Curzon, of Queen Mary's Department of Computer Science.
"We want to show how computer science draws on many different areas, from the social sciences to engineering, and from mathematics to the performing arts. It is far bigger and more diverse than ICT at school."
One undergraduate and two postgraduate masters degree places are up for grabs. The competition is open to anyone in the UK and the winners will be announced in December.
The winning undergraduate will also get a guaranteed interview on Microsoft's graduate recruitment programme. The company has also donated laptops, software and cash prizes.
