Log management vendor LogLogic has completed its purchase of network threat detection firm Exaprotect, in a deal which could boost customers' compliance and security efforts.
LogLogic is hoping that acquiring privately-held Exaprotect will help it unify historically separate point solutions, and go some way to providing customers with a complete security management suite driven by log data.
By adding security change and configuration management, LogLogic said it can now provide customers with a proactive compliance solution, and prevent data breaches.
The firm is also hoping that the deal will enhance its global presence and distribution channels, as well as increase its market presence, with a combined customer base of 1,100 enterprise and service provider customers.
"By combining Exaprotect with LogLogic, we are able to provide an innovative and easy-to-use security management suite for our customers integrated with the market-leading log management platform – something they won't find from other vendors in this market," said Patricia Sueltz, president and chief executive of LogLogic.
"A lot of vendors can monitor security events, but we simplify the process and provide guided remediation and proactive configuration and change management to further compliance and reduce costs."
