Google is rumoured to be adding a health search to its list of services.
"Health has been an area of interest at Google for some time and we have been doing a variety of research in that area, including how to improve the quality of health-related search results," said a Google spokesman.
However, the company refused to say whether it would be launching a dedicated health search. "We have nothing new to announce at this time," the spokesman added.
Google Health is expected to offer a range of search results that let users read medical research, view symptoms, look up treatment and find news.
A health search would follow on from recent launches including the Sketchup 3D drawing tool and a calendar.
