Cloudmark is offering stronger protection against spam and phishing attacks

Messaging security vendor Cloudmark has launched a cloud-based email filtering service for web hosting firms and service providers, designed to provide protection from spam and phishing attacks without the need for costly investment in on-premise resources.

CloudFilter has been engineered to provide carrier-grade protection to allow companies to provide a value-added service to customers without the admin and infrastructure costs of managing email security themselves, the company said.

The solution is capable of scaling to the largest businesses if necessary, requires little set-up cost and is delivered as a service, thereby freeing up hardware resources and staff.

CloudFilter features the vendor's Advanced Message Fingerprinting technology and real-time feedback from its Global Threat Network to detect the latest spam and other threats, according to Cloudmark.

"The CloudFilter solution offers the type of service web hosters are looking for to enable them to make the most of this opportunity by providing differentiated, premium cloud computing services to their large existing customer base," said Soeren von Varchmin, vice president of software-as-a-service and service providers international at virtualisation and automation software firm Parallels.

"CloudFilter combines the cost and management benefits of cloud computing-based services with performance and accuracy, which is key for hosting companies."
