The most popular story with V3.co.uk readers this week was the news that Amazon has not approached any European operators to provide services for its Kindle device, which is due to launch in a couple of weeks. All very odd, as the new e-book reader is being sold on its ability to download titles wirelessly.
The hack of 10,000 Hotmail accounts also generated a lot of interest, particularly the revelation that the most common password is 123456, which is about as easy to crack as, well, 123456789, which was the second most common.
Sony, meanwhile, has claimed that one model in its new Vaio X range is the lightest laptop in the known universe, at just 655g, and Palm's Pre handset is generating interest, as our review showed.
Readers were also keen to learn that Microsoft's 'ballot screen' solution for web browsers has been approved in Europe, and that Vista is already losing market share to the upcoming Windows 7.
In other news, it is anticipated that the IT sector will create 5.8 million new jobs by 2013, which is good, and that the next world war is likely to be fought online, which is not so good.
