Sony has dropped the price of its PlayStation 2 video games console from today [Monday].
HMV, WH Smith and Electronics Boutique are among the major stores to wipe £30 off its price, with the machine now selling for £269.99.
However, Sony told trade paper MCV that the move is not a strategic cut, but was intended to standardise prices across Europe. This follows changes in currency exchange rates since the console was launched.
