Video mobile operator 3 is to offer NEC's new e616V handset from this week. The clamshell design measures 103 x 53 x 26.4mm, weighs 131g and features a 33 x 45mm high-resolution screen. It adds a VGA-resolution digital camera to the features found in the e616.
The e616V can also play Java games and incorporates an MP3 player and memory card slot for a Sony MemoryStick Duo.
Bob Fuller, chief executive at 3 UK, said: "3 believes this is going to be a 3G Christmas and the NEC handsets form an important part of our growing portfolio."
Tony Hutson, director of NEC UK, added: "The e616V is a top-of-the-range handset that shows off 3's exciting range of services."
Among other services, 3 offers video clips from the Barclays Premiership, full-length music videos and licensed images from magazines such as FHM, Kiss and Heat.
