Sun Microsystems' UK distributor, Tplc, held a special charity golf day last month, to honour former employee Brian Thornton, who died in July, aged 54.
The event, held at the championship course at the Forest of Arden Golf and Country Club, raised £6,000 for the Children's Society.

The day was attended by over 60 customers and employees, as well as Brian's partner and daughter.
Richard Bradford, a friend and colleague of Brian's from Tplc, who helped organise the 18-hole competition and golf training day, spoke of Brian's high profile, not only within Tplc but also the IT industry.
"It is a testament to Brian's popularity that so much money was raised on the day," he said.
