118800 mobile directory
The 118800.co.uk mobile directory service crashed soon after its launch

Our most popular story this week has also been our most commented: the controversial 118800.co.uk mobile phone directory service crashed soon after its launch, after thousands of users flocked to the site. Sadly for the organisation, this rush was for people desperate to unsubscribe from the service to make sure their mobile number wasn't available to all and sundry.

Also popular was news that the surviving workers from the Bletchley Park cryptography unit are to be honoured, nearly 70 years after the unit was formed. The code breakers were never officially recognised for their work, but military and civilian workers will at long last receive a special commemorative badge from the government in recognition of their vital war work.
