E-commerce software provider Digital River today launched a new product designed to help online traders improve their sales figures for limited quantity, limited edition, refurbished and clearance stock.
Digital Rover Limited Edition is built on the firm's global e-commerce platform, but is particularly tailored to firms that want to extend the market for their goods, shift limited quantity products, and strengthen customer relationships, according to the firm.
“In today’s increasingly competitive market, companies are seeking new and more effective ways to diversify their revenue streams and generate as much revenue as possible at every stage of a product’s lifecycle,” said Digital River chief executive, Joel Ronning.
“With our new Limited Edition e-commerce solution, we are giving online merchants access to a complementary revenue source that is designed specifically for marketing and selling end-of-life products.
Limited Edition enables online merchants to manage "e-storefronts" that are designed solely to promote limited-edition or end-of-life products, as well as engaging with customers via social networking tools and viral marketing, the firm said.
The new software offering also features built-in controls to stream and display available limited edition inventory levels. This will help to generate urgency among customers, and ensure proper sourcing of limited supply products, said Digital River.
