Palm fans in the UK seeking news of when they can get hold of the much anticipated Pre smartphone may not have much longer to wait, as the firm could be set to give details next week.
Palm has invited members of the UK technology press to meetings regarding the Pre early next week, although the firm declined to give any details beyond the invite.
The Palm Pre went on sale in the US in June and has been garnering largely positive reviews, with some testers even comparing it favourably to Apple's iPhone.
The handset was unveiled at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas at the start of this year, and introduces a brand new platform, Palm's WebOS. The device has a slide-out Qwerty keyboard as well as a touch-screen, and supports 3G, Wi-Fi and GPS.
More details will be published as soon as we have them.
