HP has rolled out two new TouchSmart PCs, the IQ504 and IQ506.
The company is planning to offer both models through retailers in an effort to increase the TouchSmart line's appeal with consumers.
The touch-screen PCs are aimed at the multimedia PC niche. The all-in-one systems allow users to navigate through the system and view movies, pictures and music files without the need for a mouse.
The IQ504 and IQ506 will also include TV tuners, DVD burners and integrated webcam and speaker systems.
Each will include a wireless keyboard and mouse, should users opt not to use the touch-screen interface.
Both models also boast improved environmental credentials, including better energy efficiency and fewer metals and plastics than previous systems.
HP hopes that the TouchSmart models will appeal to consumers and occupy the market for media centre PCs that has been tepid thus far.
"The new TouchSmart PCs turn digital entertainment into a compelling hands-on experience, creating a social media hub within a den, living room or home office," said John Cook, vice president of worldwide marketing at HP's consumer PC branch.
"No other PC on the market offers this type of fun, engaging and simple touch experience or this level of interaction with digital media."
The IQ504 and IQ506 will retail for $1,299 and $1,499 respectively.
