Disgraced Tory peer Jeffrey Archer has won a cyber-squatting case over the www.jeffreyarcher.com domain name.
The disputed domain had been registered at Canada-based Celebrity 1000 to draw visitors to its entertainment site.
Archer took the case to the World Intellectual Property Organization's Arbitration and Mediation Centre, which resolves domain name disputes, claiming that the web address has been registered in bad faith and that Celebrity 1000 had no rights or legitimate interest in the name.
The complaint also states that Celebrity 1000 had previously registered the names of other celebrities including Pamela Anderson, Pierce Brosnan and Carmen Electra.
As Celebrity 1000 failed to respond to the complaint by the deadline, the panel ordered that the domain name be transferred to Archer.
