BMG UK new media manager Jon Davis said: "Pop Idol is the biggest brand of the year so far, so this is a really big one for us."
The site, which is being designed by Good Technology, will be given the finishing touches following the show's final airing on 9 February, and must be completed by 11 February.
The site will feature a range of premium and mobile content, which will use reverse SMS billing and interactive voice recognition systems.
BMG is expected to work with third parties on most of the premium content offers, which will include the likes of 'instant gratification' content costing in the region of £1 or £2.
The winner's first single is earmarked for release on 25 February.
