Web users spend more time visiting Yahoo sites than they do Google sites, according to a new report from Nielson Online.
Although Google has over 21 million more unique visits than Yahoo, people spend 45 minutes more per month on Yahoo sites than Google sites.
The statistics, covering US internet usage, will come as good news to Yahoo chief executive Carol Bartz, who has been constantly quizzed on why Yahoo has not been performing as well as its biggest competitor.
Bartz was also asked at the company's recent annual shareholder meeting why the average Yahoo employee generates half as much revenue as the average Google employee.
The Nielson research showed that web users spend the most time with Facebook, at an average of four and a half hours a month. Yahoo is in second place, followed by AOL, Google and Microsoft.
