UK customers awaiting the arrival of Apple's iPod mini will have to wait until July to get their hands on the device, the company has confirmed.
Demand for the mini portable music player in the US is far outstripping supply, with buyers facing up to three weeks' wait for their iPod.
Although it is increasing its manufacturing output, Apple admitted that it would not be able to catch up with demand until the end of June.
In addition, shortages of the tiny 4GB Hitachi hard disk drive used to store music in the iPod mini have delayed worldwide availabilty until the second half of the year.
The iPod mini retails for $249 (£131) in the US. Apple has yet to release pricing details for the UK.
