Third-generation mobile operator 3 has introduced a new range of payment plans to allow users a choice between inclusive call minutes or inclusive text messages.
The new price structure will apply to contract users and to users of 3's new pre-pay service launched earlier this week.
Customers on the VideoTalk 500 tariff currently pay £25 for 500 voice minutes per month. The new VideoText 500 plan offers 50 voice minutes and 500 text messages for the same cost, with similar equivalents available for the existing £15 and £35 plans.
Pre-pay users are to be offered similar deals, with customers able to buy vouchers to the value of £15, £25 and £35, which give the same allowances as the equivalent monthly contract rate, for a period of 30 days.
By charging the same for pre-pay users as for contract customers the company is distancing itself from its competitors, who generally charge pre-pay users more per call at peak times than contract customers.
