Content management specialist Open Text has released a tool aimed at improving search functions.
Semantic Navigation allows customers to perform searches with more precision than conventional keyword-based systems, the firm said.
The tool uses an analytical engine to group search results based on elements such as context and the meaning of the query.
Open Text hopes that Semantic Navigation can simplify online search and prevent the need to scroll through long lists of results.
"The volume and diversity of content continues to grow much faster than organisations can efficiently manage, meaning that the true potential of that content to boost audience engagement is never realised," said Open Text chief marketing officer James Latham.
"We believe semantic and content analysis technology holds significant promise for helping organisations change this equation."
Semantic Navigation is available as an on-premise software deployment or as a cloud-based service. Open Text is offering enterprises a 30-day free trial to help push the cloud service.
