UK mobile phone users are too lazy to review their contracts, according to a survey.
Conducted by mobile operator Orange, the survey showed that more than two-thirds of UK customers never review their mobile phone plans, and only a quarter shop around when getting a contract in the first place.
A third of users believe that all tariffs are the same, and the majority rely on friends and family to pick them a good deal.
An Orange spokesman explained that the findings mirrored the financial services industry, where people failed to review mortgages, credit cards or bank accounts.
He blamed this apathy on "an overwhelming feeling of confusion" generated by a profusion of inflexible tariff options offered by mobile operators.
