Enterprise mobility firm me2me has launched the latest version of its digital dictation software, and a mobile app that can turn iPhone, BlackBerry and Windows devices into enterprise quality dictation tools.
Frisbee Pro 2.0 comes with a number of upgrades including support for Windows 7, Microsoft Office 2010, Dragon NaturallySpeaking Professional 11 and the Frisbee Smart mobile dictation app.
Frisbee Smart allows users to verbally record notes, emails, interviews and reports using their smartphone and send them anywhere for transcription.
The app is ideal for administrative, medical and legal professionals who regularly turn spoken text into structured documents, according to me2me.
Frisbee Smart also features enhanced voice quality, along with the ability to record notes without a time limit, jump to any place in the recording and insert a new dictation at any point.
Dictation can then be sent for transcription via an email attachment without the need to tether devices to a desktop or laptop. Frisbee automatically grabs the audio file from the receiver's Outlook client and enters it into the transcription interface.
Peter Hauser, chief executive and chairman at me2me, suggested that the price of Frisbee Smart will open up dictation services to the mass market.
"We are the first company in the world to come to market with full dictation services and features for workstation- and server-based dictation with fast forward, rewind, insert and more features integrated into smartphones," he said.
Frisbee Smart requires iOS 3.2 or later and is compatible with the iPhone, iPad and iPod touch second-, third- and fourth-generation devices. It is available for £2.99 from the App Store.
Users of BlackBerry and Windows platforms will have to contact a Frisbee partner in the UK. V3.co.uk contacted me2me to confirm prices, but the firm had not responded at the time of publication.
