More than 3,000 people have applied to become human adverts for the upcoming Turok Evolution computer game.

Acclaim UK said that it has been swamped with responses to its request for volunteers after offering £500 plus an Xbox console and a copy of the game to five people if they change their name to Turok by deed poll for one year.

The company stated that it is amazed at the response and will be looking at similar marketing ploys next time it launches a new product.

People wishing to be considered need to apply online at www.mynameisturok.co.uk by 2 September.

The successful applicants will have their new identities in time for the launch of Turok Evolution on 6 September.
