Hynix Semiconductor has unveiled what it claims is the fastest and smallest 512Mb mobile DRam.
The product, which measures 8mm x 10mm, operates at a clock speed of 200MHz.
By using 32 I/Os, the 512Mb mobile DDR SDRam processes 1.6GB (400Mbps x 32) of data in one second, nearly 1.5 times faster than the company's existing mobile DRam products.
Hynix expects that the components will be incorporated into digital music players and phones.
The company added that it hopes to combine 512Mb mobile DRam and Nand Flash in a multi-chip package which will contribute to the production of slimmer mobile phones.
