Apple has unveiled a faster, more affordable line of its eMac desktop computers for consumers.
The new eMacs feature 1.25GHz PowerPC G4 processors, 333MHz DDR memory, ATI Radeon graphics cards, USB 2.0 connectivity and FireWire, with prices starting at around £550.
The eMacs are housed in an all-in-one design, featuring a 17in CRT display, a CD-RW and DVD or DVD-R combination and an 80GB hard drive.
An optional internal Bluetooth module and built-in antenna and card slot to support 802.11g wireless networking are also offered.
The devices include Mac OSX, security and entertainment software including iTunes, iPhoto, iMovie, iDVD, and the GarageBand recording studio.
