UK third-generation mobile operator 3 is to offer Open Championship golf video highlights direct to customers' handsets.
The highlights will form part of the firm's Sport on 3 mobile sports service, which includes Sky Sports News, and video highlights from the FA Premier League and UEFA Champion's League.
The Open Championship service offers four highlights packages a day to fans unable to make the trip to Royal Troon from 15 to 18 July.
As well as footage of the day's action, the service will contain tournament previews, video archive material, daily player interviews and regular news updates. Customers can also receive MMS news direct to their 3 video mobiles.
Angus Farquhar, commercial secretary at the Royal and Ancient Golf Club, said in a statement: "One of the club's objectives has always been to bring the excitement of The Open to as wide an audience as possible, be it on TV, radio, the internet and now mobile phones.
"We are delighted that, thanks to our association with 3, fans will now be able to watch the Championship highlights on their video mobiles."
Graeme Oxby, marketing director at 3 UK, added: "The Open Championship service on 3 follows the first ever Wimbledon video mobile service of the world's most famous tennis competition.
"As Tim Henman crashed out of the quarter-finals, and the England football team lost in a dramatic clash with Portugal in Euro 2004, 3 saw record viewing figures on its video mobile service."
