Open Text has released Vignette Content Management 8, which it claims will increase the agility of firms by making it easier for business professionals to create web sites and micro sites.
The new product is the first major Vignette content management release announced by Open Text since it acquired the firm last year in a deal worth approximately $310m.
"Vignette Content Management 8 brings together the enterprise-class capabilities customers need to gain the full value of the web," said James Latham, Open Text chief marketing officer.
"Its flexibility and ease of use helps marketers to be more effective, allowing them to focus on the message, not the tools."
Marketing professionals will be able to use templates to create micro sites for promotions and events, and create event-specific designs where appropriate, Open Text said.
They will also be able to clone existing sites and apply graphical themes to pages.
Open Text said that Vignette Content Management 8 will allow users to deploy new sites in minutes and create new pages with one click.
