Samsung has officially released its latest Android-powered smartphone in Europe. The Galaxy Spica comes with a number of Google services, such as Search, Maps, YouTube and Talk.
The handset will also support the Android Market, and will be the first Android handset to support DivX video without the need for conversion. Other features include a touch-screen interface, 3.2-megapixel camera, MicroSD storage and a 1500 mAh battery.
Samsung hopes that the DivX support and upgraded 800MHz processor will be particularly strong selling points.
"The Samsung Galaxy Spica, powered by Android, is the perfect fit for users who want a powerful and fast mobile experience," said J K Shin, executive vice president and mobile communications head at Samsung.
The handset is the latest in a growing crop of Android phones, including the Motorola Dext, T-Mobile Pulse and Sony Ericsson Xperia X10.
