Just days after unveiling details of its PlayStation 3, Sony has offered a sneak peek at the game titles and peripherals that will accompany the forthcoming console.
More than 20 first- and third-party PS3 titles will be available, with most expected to retail at less than $60.
"Our line-up of PS3 games that will be available through the holidays is unprecedented in terms of volume, variety and innovation, surpassing any previous competitive launch catalogue and even our own original offerings for other PlayStation platforms," said Kaz Hirai, president and CEO of Sony Computer Entertainment America.
He added that the title NBA 07 will run at 1080 pixels “for the highest resolution image possible, creating hyper-realistic characters and gameplay never seen before.”
The list of third party launch titles includes: Blazing Angels Squadrons of WWII, Call of Duty 3, EA Sports Fight Night Round 3, The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion, F.E.A.R., Full Auto 2: Battlelines, Madden NFL 07, Marvell Ultimate Alliance, Mobile Suit Gundam: Crossfire, NBA 2K7, Need For Speed Carbon, NHL 2K7, Sonic the Hedgehog, Tiger Woods PGA Tour 07, Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Vegas, Tony Hawk's Project 8, Untold Legends Dark Kingdom.
Peripherals that will be available in North America on day one will include a separately sold wireless controller, available for $49.99, a memory card adaptor for transferring game save information from PlayStation and PlayStation 2 memory cards onto the HDD of PS3 for $14.99, and a BD remote control for $24.99.

sort your sh%t out SONY...
I am tired of how sony is treating there faithful, a Playstation loyalist since switching from my Nintendo 64. I am not happy with how slow things are coming about in terms of the games being released. Regardless of the delay in the console, the developers have had enough time to have more games ready for release. I wouldnt be making a big deal about beating the small xbox 360 launch line up of 15 games, because that was a bloody long time ago... after a year long delay, the launch lineup has gone from 16-20...STOP FEEDING US BULL$#ITE and just get things done... The last thing I want is to thave the walls of my games store covered in green for the next two years while sony is sorting out there $#%te... Its in the holy scriptures for god sake... "And God said, I will paint the walls of thy game stores blue with the might of thy StationofPlaying, and shall smite the green covered infidels of sodom..."
