Dell has added a new model to its Inspiron laptop line, which the PC maker said blurs the line between desktop and laptop functionality with its large 17.3in display.
Available immediately, the Inspiron 17 has an LED backlight for its wide-screen display, and offers multimedia capabilities, including an optional Blu-ray drive and a high-definition 1,600 x 900 display. A 'true HD' 1080p screen option is also coming soon, according to Dell.
The new Inspiron is also said to be highly customisable, with a choice of seven case colours, hard drive options up to 500GB, memory up to 8GB, and an optional ATI graphics accelerator chip.
Processor options include Intel Celeron or Core 2 Duo chips up to 2.4GHz, with 802.11g or n Wi-Fi and Bluetooth.
Dell describes the Inspiron 17 as an ultraportable, but it weighs in at a rather hefty 3.1kg with its standard six-cell battery pack. A nine-cell battery is also available.
Prices start at £369 plus VAT for a model with 2GB memory, 160GB hard drive and 2.2GHz Celeron processor.

I think Asus Eee Pc is the best in Mini Laptops
I have used Hi-Def screen but trust me i think that there is not much difference. And they are quite expensive as well. But i have recently bought the Asus Eee Pc from T-mobile for Free. I mean free with the mobile Broadband and i am going to pay only 20 Pounds and i think Asus is a nice cheap mini laptop.
