Nintendo has revealed details of its Advanced Gameboy which is slated for release next spring.

The new version of the console will be based on a 32bit microprocessor, and will include full internet connectivity through compatible mobile phones. This will allow consumers to download games software, join in multiplayer games, send email and use games-related chat rooms.

The Advanced Gameboy will also come with a digital camera accessory enabling gamers to take photos as well as see the faces of competing players in multiplayer games.

"It's like you have your TV games in your hands," said Minoru Arakawa, president of Nintendo America.

The games giant declined to reveal any details of its Dolphin console which is also scheduled for launch next year.
