"The addition of Edge strengthens our ability to offer businesses and consumers access to high-speed data services in the UK," said Bernard Ghillebaert, executive vice president at Orange UK.
Orange currently has five 3G and Edge-enabled handsets in its portfolio, the Nokia 6280, 6630, 6680 and N70, and the SPV M5000.
The operator will introduce two new Edge-enabled products to the UK business market this spring, the BlackBerry 8700g and Business Everywhere laptop data card.
Europe leads the world in Edge deployments with over 35 networks up and running, according to the Global Mobile Suppliers Association.
