Shaun Wright-Phillips has finally been given the chance to play at the World Cup, even if it is only on a Microsoft Xbox 360.
England coach Sven-Göran Ericsson may have left the Chelsea winger at home in favour of a 17 year-old who's never played a Premiership match, and a bloke with a broken foot, but the wizard of the wing will be making his World Cup finals debut on Xbox Live next Tuesday.
The gimmick is part of Microsoft's Game with Fame series, and past competitors include the bands Hoobastank, The Strokes, Maroon 5, Steriogram and Big Boi from OutKast.
The former No ttingham Forest and Manchester City player will be playing 2006 FIFA World Cup online from 5pm to 7pm UK time on 20 June.
Potential players need to add the gamer tag SWPhillips to their friends list and then go online during that period to see whether they've been chosen to play and chat with Wright-Phillips.
