Wow
DVD playback is something I let all the users on our LAN do all the time... :( And I'll rush out to buy new PCs with those processors in just to get that functionality. Is this one of their main selling points? Honestly I've spent the last month or so looking at Windows 7 and the benefits of it over Vista appear to be minor. But it's quite annoying because you can't use the old Windows 2000 GUI anymore which causes all kinds of problems in legacy situations - although it does run pretty much everything Vista does. I went to a Microsoft promo event and okay there are a few things in it that are a bit useful like DirectAccess (a VPN replacement) and BranchCache (filing server cache for branch offices). But those require Windows 2008 R2 as well on the servers. As a standalone OS or a client OS it's a bit of a yawn as far as I'm concerned.
