Unisource is to moving into broadband wireless access by forming a pact with US mobile specialist Formus.
The two companies will combine their respective networks to target specific European regions. Also, Formus will acquire all of Unisource Mobile's local wireless access assets and upgrade them to support broadband technologies.
To deliver services, Formus will interconnect Unisource Mobile's links with the pan European network of Unisource's wholesale arm, Unisource Carrier Services.
Formus president, Vernon Kenley, said: "Once our local networks are established, we will have an immediate presence in the European market that will allow us to serve a local base of customers."
