Oracle will acquire Golden Gate Software for an undisclosed sum

Oracle has agreed to acquire Golden Gate Software as part of an effort to bolster its business intelligence offerings.

Golden Gate specialises in data integration tools, which would be added to Oracle's arsenal to improve monitoring and reporting for tasks such as server migrations and system upgrades.

"The need to improve operating performance in a global 24x7 environment has led to the need for data integration to support real-time and high availability capabilities," said Hasan Rizvi, Oracle's senior vice president for Fusion Middleware development.

"With the addition of Golden Gate, Oracle expects to help our customers achieve better performance through improved business intelligence and business continuity with real-time information."

Oracle said that it will not completely integrate Golden Gate into its operations, instead allowing both companies to continue to operate independently. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
