Leading security firm Sourcefire has launched new appliances running its 3D System aimed specifically at small and medium businesses and large enterprise branch offices.
The system includes the entry-level Defense Center 500, which can manage up to three Sourcefire 3D sensors including the 3D4500, also launched today.
The 3D4500 Sensor is a 1U appliance with both copper and fibre gigabit connections, which Sourcefire claimed can inspect up to 2Gbit/s of network throughput.
The sensor can run intrusion prevention along with Sourcefire's Real-time Network Awareness and Real-time User Awareness tools.
The Defense Center 500 aggregates security and compliance events, such as the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard, and can report back to a master defence centre at a company's central office.
Both appliances are available now.
