Vodafone 360 will replace Vodafone Live

Vodafone had launched a new online address book service that users can access via their PCs or a range of mobile devices.

Vodafone 360 will integrate all a user’s contacts from their mobile phone, social networks and other internet accounts into one address book, dubbed Vodafone People.

The firm said the service will also offer an app store as well as games, music and a mapping service that will allow users to share their favourite content and physical location with friends.

Vodafone added that the service will sync wirelessly between the mobile and PC or Mac so users are automatically notified of any contact updates.

“Vodafone 360 is the first service of its kind to offer customers the benefits of a truly integrated mobile internet experience that gathers all their contacts and content, all around them, in one place,” said Pieter Knook, Vodafone Group internet services director.

“Customers can stay in touch and share experiences through social networks, instant messaging, email, apps, maps, music and buying digital content on their mobile bill, with the personalised address book at its heart,” he added.

The new service will replace the Vodafone Live suite the company launched seven years ago.

Vodafone 360 is intended to help the firm combat the threat posed by Apple’s iPhone and Google’s Android mobile OS.

The company is also losing market share and is now the third-largest mobile carrier in the UK now that T-Mobile and Orange have teamed up
