BT Vision will offer Steven Spielberg's DreamWorks catalogue for on-demand video

BT has signed a deal with DreamWorks SKG to use the film company's content on its next-generation TV-via-broadband service.

The BT Vision service launches in Autumn 2006 and includes all Freeview digital channels, as well as on-demand films, music and TV programming.

The main service is subscription-free, although BT will charge for video-on-demand titles on a pay-per-view basis.

The first titles offered by the DreamWorks deal include Steven Spielberg's Munich, Madagascar, Just Like Heaven, Red Eye and the Oscar-winning Wallace and Gromit: The Curse of the Were-Rabbit.

"We are delighted to have completed agreements with one of the world's greatest movie studios," said BT Vision chief executive Dan Marks.

"We look forward to bringing these movies to our customers with the choice, convenience and control that they want."

BT Vision has already signed a deal with Paramount to provide a range of older and classic films for its on-demand service, as well as linking up with I-Concerts and Eagle Rock to show concert footage.
