HP today announced that is has signed a definitive agreement to acquire the Middle Eastern system integrator Atos Origin Group (AOME).
AOME, an independent group of companies headquartered in Bahrain, employs more than 450 people primarily in its offices in Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar and Libya. The company specialises in SAP project implementations.
"The Middle East is one of our fastest growing markets," said Ken Willett, vice president and managing director, Middle East, Mediterranean and Africa, HP.
In addition to enhancing HP’s SAP capabilities in the Middle East, the deal will boost the firm’s profile in the public sector and oil segments. It will also expand its market share into Libya and Qatar.
The acquisition is subject to certain customary closing conditions. The transaction is expected to be completed in November.
