Oracle has announced the latest edition of its business process modelling portfolio of tools.
Business Process Analysis Suite 11g is based on the IDS Scheer ARIS Design Platform, and provides deeper integration with Oracle's SOA Suite than previous editions in order to improve IT departments' efficiency when designing business processes, according to the database giant.
Oracle explained that the new integration, as well as the addition of a new web collaboration component called Process Publisher, will allow customers to communicate on process design.
"Now business and IT users have the right set of tools designed for their individual needs. Business users design process models with Oracle BPA Suite 11g, and IT uses the same process models for execution with Oracle SOA Suite," said Amlan Debnath, product development vice president at Oracle.
The company claimed that the updated suite will also allow businesses to change processes more easily through improved process visibility and reporting.
Business analysts and architects can now capture whole business processes using standard notations, including Business Process Modelling Notation, Event-Driven Process Chain and Value Chain Diagrams, while reporting capabilities have been extended to capture the context around supporting systems, products, services and strategy, the firm said.
A new graphical Report Editor, meanwhile, will simplify report building and enable users to create result presentations quickly, Oracle said.
