Dell is to bundle a McAfee security software suite with its laptops and PCs.
The SecurityCenter bundle comes with software that targets viruses, adware and spyware. Anti-spam filters and personal firewall functionality are also included.
Mike George, vice president and general manager of Dell's US consumer business, said: "In partnership with McAfee, we are providing consumers and small businesses with the affordable single security solution they have been asking for."
Users will be able to sign up for regular software updates at discounts of up to 50 per cent off shop prices.
The move follows Dell's July launch of a security themed customer education campaign, and its October announcement of a partnership with the Internet Education Foundation to launch the Consumer Spyware Initiative.
