MCI today unveiled a private line Ethernet service targeting business customers across nine European countries.
The firm's Private Line Ethernet service allows companies with multiple business locations to establish end-to-end Ethernet connections between two or more local area networks (Lans) within a city, country or across international borders.
According to MCI, companies with multiple European business locations will be able cut networking costs by using the service to link separate Lans into a packet-based transparent Lan network, providing users at each location with the feel and functionality of working on the same local network.
Connectivity speeds range from 2Mbps to 100Mbps with a high degree of bandwidth granularity.
MCI Private Line Ethernet is currently available in Belgium, France, Germany, Italy, Luxembourg, The Netherlands, Sweden, Switzerland and the UK.
The offering is backed by service level commitment guarantees covering installation, availability, mean time to repair and data throughput. Pricing is flat rate, based on the customer's installed bandwidth.
