Mac and Linux-based soccer fans will be disappointed to learn that the official World Cup site for action replays does not support their systems.
The tournament, which kicks off today with cup-holders France playing debutants Senegal, will be screened on the world governing body FIFA's website for the first time.

Built with Yahoo, fifaworldcup.yahoo.com/en will offer web surfers four-minute clips of post-match highlights on its $19.95 package. But it will only support systems using "Windows 95/98/ME/2000/XP IE 5.0 or above or Netscape 4.5 or above, JavaScript and Cookies-enabled Windows Media Player 6.0 or above".
"Mac, Unix and Real media player are not supported," the website warns.
This move will mean millions of fans will be unable to view match highlights.
FIFA decided to provide highlights online rather than live matches because of existing television rights.
