Samsung N310
The N310 boasts a scratch-proof screen and ergonomic keyboard design

Samsung has announced the latest addition to its netbook family, the style-conscious N310 mini notebook.

The N310 boasts a frameless screen and 'pebble design' keyboard, and is robust and powerful, according to Samsung. Battery life is a claimed five hours, thanks to optimised processing performance, and even with a four-cell battery and 10in screen, the N310 weighs only 1.23kg.

Workers who are constantly on the move may also appreciate the scratch-proof screen and ergonomic keyboard design. Samsung said that the keys were designed with optimised spacing, which would lead to less strain on the wrist, fewer errors and faster typing speeds.

Perhaps more importantly for some users, the keyboard is coated with anti-bacterial protection, making it impossible for anything nasty to live or breed at users' fingertips.

Other work-friendly features include an Intel Atom chip, Windows XP, an internal microphone, webcam, three-in-one card reader and three USB ports.

"The introduction of the N310 takes the mini notebook into a whole new dimension. As well as incorporating the very latest communications technology within a lightweight, but very robust, casing, it also offers people the chance to savour a premium lifestyle experience with its ultra-stylish and minimalist signature design crafted by world-renowned designers," said Seong Woo Nam, senior vice president of Samsung Computer Systems.

The N310 will be available from May in European markets.
