Video mobile network 3 has added the Nokia 7600 to the list of handsets it supports.
The Nokia 7600 is the first device from the mobile operator to be made available on the 3 network.
Available free with some contracts, the handset allows customers to capture pictures and create videos, send and receive multimedia messages and mobile email, and listen to music.
The handset also supports 3 video mobile services, including ITN news bulletins, movie highlights, music videos and Champions League action. But it cannot be used to make person-to-person video calls.
3 UK chief operating officer Gareth Jones said the company was seeing high demand for its services.
"In order to meet the consumer demand and interest already being demonstrated in video mobile services, we're pleased to be offering customers Nokia's 3G handset through over 3,200 shops across the UK," he said in a statement.
Mats Wolontis, Nokia Mobile Phones UK managing director, added: "In addition to streaming video and content download, Nokia sees person-to-person video as a key 3G application that will be featured in Nokia's 3G offering in the future."
