Nochex has warned all its users about the email, which carries the subject line: 'Your Account is Limited.'
The company has told users that they should be especially wary of emails that direct them to any website asking for sensitive information such as their Nochex password or debit card details.
"As we have stated previously, you should never enter your personal details into a web page until you are sure that the page is secure," it said.
Nochex stressed that its genuine website address should begin with https://www.nochex.com, and that users should be aware that the 's' after 'http' indicates that it is a secure web page.
It warns users to check that there is a padlock icon in the bottom right-hand corner of their browser. Users should double-click on the 'padlock' to make sure that the security certificate has been issued to 'www.nochex.com'.
Nochex added that anyone in doubt about the authenticity of a website address or email from the company should contact its customer services at support@nochex.com.
