Microsoft brings out someone else's dead

  • Tweet this

In a spectacle that might turn out to be even more embarrassing than it already is, Microsoft has 'buried' the Blackberry and Apple operating systems.

The firm carried out the mock solemn event on Friday afternoon when it closed development on Windows Mobile 7 and sent it off for shipping. Presumably the stunt was supposed to be an internal thing, since it makes Microsoft look pretty silly - sillier still should the operating system fall on its face.

It appears that the firm staged the event on Friday in its campus, and presented its workers with the aforementioned funeral, as well as Darth Vader on a motorcycle, a float, a recreation of the Thriller dance and some other nonsense.

It looks like fun, and must make a great break from sitting in front of a screen checking code.

You can check some images out on Flickr, or on YouTube - if you like the idea of watching people from Microsoft make a spectacle of themselves while they were working while you are working.

It's up to you, but don't say you weren't warned.
